No, sry it waz my mistake... i charged my battery directly through the power supply...the negative terminal of the battery became positive and the postive of the battery became negative when i connected the transistor broke....but before this the circuit waz working directly through the power supply....perhaps i made a new circuit with great finishing and charged the battery correctly now its working properly...Thanks For Your Support....

I just did, before I read this one.

Wookie is better at a lot of this than I am, he is giving sound advice. I chipped in with my 2¢.

Math is your friend. I've given the formula for the oscillator, all you have to do is plug in the numbers.

Try it, and then I will check it and give the right answer. This is the homework section after all.

as i dun have 15k resistor with me...nd i'll go to the market next month....can i connect THREE "4.7k resistors" and ONE 1K resistor in a series....which will make 15.1k ...will it work...??

can we advance this circuit a little bit by adding one more variable resistor that can be adjustable off timer...from 0.5 seconds to 3 seconds..


I guess i'll call it off timer...after observing it i got to know that the relay turns on for 5 seconds and goes off for 2 seconds...nd i'll use the NC contact of the relay to turn my wiper motor on...forget all this...

adding a variable resistor is possible??

Yes, a variable is possible. The only thing to watch out for this design is R1 (and R3) can not be 0Ω or the 555 will fry.

For a 1 Second on time drop R1 to 4.7KΩ (a WAG).

You keep changing the specs. I hate that.
