Hello everyone,

I am seeking advice regarding smd inductors.
Are there any disadvantages to using an inductor with a rated current that is more than double the actual current load?

Only cost and size.

 

As You get closer to the calculated "minimum" rating,
the performance/efficiency of the Circuit will gradually get worse.
It's all about trade-offs and compromises when You attempt to miniaturize a Circuit, or reduce costs.
