When choosing an inductor for a buck converter driving an LED how much higher than the max current of the circuit do you guys select for the saturation rating of the inductor?

But I usually model them in LtSpice because often the problems occur on power up.

Maybe 1/2 amp.

 

90% of rated current maximum for personal projects and 75% for commercial products.
