Hi, I want to make a part that uses a miniature electromagnetic solenoid (3V DC), which can be momentarily operated by a magnet passing through a coil. Does anyone know how to design this inductive part to supply the 3V? The coil could be a rod shape or a square shape with the inside hole about 180x180mm, and the magnet needs to be as small as possible. Any ideas on how to calculate this?

What will move the magnet through the coil?
What shape is the magnet and where are its poles positioned?
You can't calculate much without knowing the magnet strength.
