Increase 'sensitivity' of a sound to light circuit

Thanks Guru. Good to know that my enforced chance of transistor has benefits. I think the only way to really get full level brightness would have been to use an alternate design that used a relay, on the back end of an electret mic and transistor amp circuit, to directly drive the bulbs from the battery.

Still it does do the job. I am going to try smaller voltage bulbs as Sgt suggested. Having tested the output of the unit on several occasions the actual output is no where near the 12 Volts the computer simulation software I first used all that time ago gave readings of.

I understand, now, that such software behaves in too optimistic a fashion or even an unrealistic fashion. A good education in the art of electronics would help mitigate this of course.
