LOL! I think you are aging yourself. ;)

I was lucky to play with the PET. My first computer was the TI99/4a.
Then I graduated to the Commodore PC10-2 (PC-clone) At this time, my friends still had C-64's and they could not believe that a computer existed with 640k of base memory.

I got a VIC-20 after this as friends upgraded to C64's and 128's.

My first C-128 was aquired in 1992. That was a blistering 2MHz.

It was still faster than the 4.77MHz PC10-2. It just seemed that Commodore was going the wrong direction.. The Amigas started to arrive around this point. I believe they used the 80286, but Im not exactly sure.

The C-64 was a great design and platform... Unbelievably fast and powerful graphics and sound ,for such a "slow" processor and 64k of memory...

Goes to show what OS bloat will do to processor power.
