Hello all,

I apologize for posting on this thread but I'm having trouble finding the post new thread button. I'm attempting to create my own launch controller but I have no idea where to start. I have the pieces I want to use and I believe I have all the supplies. I was wondering if anyone could please help with the schematic for the supplies I have. An on off switch, a toggle switch, and a momentary contact switch. Any and all help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As to model rocket launchers in general, A Learning Guide for Model Rocket Launch Systems is a good start from Estes who make rocket engines and the igniters. I suggest you read the link. I think you will discover the igniters actually require a good battery capable of supplying the necessary current for an igniter to start a burn. Using a 12 VDC power supply or battery they use a small incandescent lamp which limits igniter current to a safe level to verify igniter operation then short the lamp delivering full igniter current and the motor starts.

I suggest you begin by outlining exactly what you want to do and how you expect it to work.
