I need some help. Essentially this is a WIFI question over 160km ranges (ham groups wont help)

Papa Bravo would not +1, 0 +1, 0 mean to increase to x value of +1 to neutral 0 back to increased x value back to 0 neutral value?? Most of the setups need to have at least 1270 bit resolution for smooth operations. Let me know I might have missed something
Your commands can be either absolute, or relative to the last command. The problem with relative commands is that you may not know where the actuator is. This is especially true if it is possible for commands to be dropped. With absolute commands sending the same command will quickly remedy any problem with missing a command.

So it is a matter of redundancy, got it, Good idea.

This is a basic network reliability concept that comes from the implementation of cyclic and change of state producers. If you implement just a change of state producer, the consumer may or may not get the message. So a change of state producer is always implemented with a cyclic component. The device will place a message on the network every time there is a change of state AND every 150 milliseconds. In this way the consumer will eventually get the message without flooding the network with traffic. This also does not require a handshake between the producer and the consumer which also reduces network traffic.

There are bad news at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizon explaining what means a round globe. If You use any waves short enough, they work like a light going exclusively straight, and then to get 160 km distance one need a 500m high transmitter antenna and 500m hing receiver antenna, each are producing the 80 km horizon distance.

However one may try to use much longer waves what are able to bend, but then is problem about channel width. I wonder if there is any good of video-flow if not 60 Hz a raw and 600x800 pixels in screen, or other words 0,6*0,8*60 MHz. So, if the 20-30 MHz must be the channel with, the frequency must be at least 470 or 2400 MHz but both are not bending..

Proposal - use a retranslation stations. If mast pracrically may be built at least sone 25...50 meter high, then horizon for two 50 meter masts stay 40 km from each another. It means the three retranslators may make a job. As the few Watts are enough for be heard even at 160 km distance, except the hurricane with falling thunder-stones :) then all those retranslators MAY happen even PASSIVE not active. Just try to operate with a resonant mirror planes.

My experience with power in 160 MHz range tells the modern 0,1 microvolt sensitive cheap end commercial marine station may have ideal sound quality at even so small as 1/2 Watt at 40 kilometers afar. Thus, the 10 watts are clear nonsense, better instead spend the money for noise suppression. You may transmit even 10 Zetawatts if like, but them will not cross the radio-horizon the same way like a sunlight is shadowed by mountain-top at every morning and evening.

Probably (but that will be skyrocket-science figurally) You may try to work on the 30-130 MHz range but multitude of channels simultaneously. If the Park is big enough, probably none will sue You for all available frequencies occupation?? Who knows.

How its about mountaintops there. Probably You may use a modulated laser ray, what easily may be seen even at 30 000 km afar if not fog? At least 700 m mountain in one end and zero in another may beat a horizon problem. And local transmitters then nee only to cach the mountain to provide their data streams.

How about satellites? Probably easier is to use their retranslator services? At least this method is rather stable and well approved.

And last but not least method. There are rather cheap tree-top cameras with thick battery pack in the internet-shops. I bought one such. It starts to write when infrared sensor says it is worth so, and writes a SD card while the alive object is shivering. The max recording time is sth about 2 weeks if card is large enough. So, once a month one must look it through and fix the faces and car numbers.....

And as variation of this - Your cam is writting all the infrared drived happenings but them are transmitted in middle wave channel very slowly, bit by bit, nothing wrong if 5 minute transmitting will take the hour. Then the radiohorizon stays few thousand kilometers and depends indeed of the Wattage.

Hello Janis, typically the air frames are flying no lower than 500 m for the reason of the horizon, the mountain that they are transmitting from is pushing 5000m with the station at about 2000m Above surrounding ground level, typically the airframes are flying below the elevation of the base station, or when they are near sea level, as I said about 500m.

Satalites wont work as the lag time is too long,

The commercial systems are pushing 200km now, on 10w @2.4ghz signal, and using a designated network, (basically their own cell/ wifi network) at the base station to a designated receiver/router on the planes and the ground. Think your home wifi, with the password with the router and the ip address with the network. same scenario.

So the question still stands, how/ what equipment do I need to create a wifi system? that is connected to a lap top computer on the airframe?

The UAV factory Penguin B or C is a prime example of this. and what can be done.
