Hello,
I am currently trying to build a beefed up Slayer Exciter Circuit but I ran into a problem.
The Transistor I wanted to use isn't easily availeble anymore and now I need a new one for the circuit. The old one was called "25K242". The new transistor should be a N-channel Mosfet with a Voltage of over 500V, <2Ohm Resistance, >40W power and will be driven at around 9V. Can anyone recommend a good Transistor for this purpose?

digikey, mouser, arrownac- all these sites of parametric search tools so you an search for matching parameters.

 

40W/9V = 4.44A That's a bit much for a transistor battery...

Try digikey or mouser again, there are a number of SiC nmos that would be equal or greater with better rds on.
