I can't tell if the first resistor stripe is brown or red. If it's red that it's 20 ohm, if it's brown then it is 10. What do you think?

Like i said , 10 ohms ..is it open circuit?
There was a question mark after your previous msg #6 so I thought you were questioning it. All good.
It's open. It's now black. I accidentally shorted it and along came a plume of smoke.

The stripe is the LAST of three, and the color is quite brown. So the resistor value is 470 ohms. The cheap trick to keeping the reading easy is that the first stripe is closes to the end, and the third strip is the number of zeros to add after the first two digits.
But if it is that big long grey resistor then the value is ten ohms. (1,0, no more zeros) Or it was prior to the smoke event. It may not have failed, depending on how long it was overloaded.
