I hired someone to take a tree down on the east side of my property, it’s coming down today, when I moved in 13 years ago it was 30ft tall locust tree it’s grown since, neighbor said it was hit with lighting once. But, it’s so big now I don’t need passerby people to get killed if one of the branches came down, the wife won’t let me have another one close to my driveway cut down, but for me it’s location is just breaking the concrete threatening the new concrete I poured 3 years ago. While the guy has his boom he can at least thin it, she says its a maple but I say it’s just another tree from hell, once they get so big you can’t reach them with a normal ladder I say it’s time to go, small manageable trees are ok.I don't see much weather information lately, so I will interject according to the Thread title.
It has been absolutely perfect in Florida for a couple of months, except on the rainy days. Winter chores are getting accomplished! I discovered I can still wrangle a 28 foot extension ladder up a tree and cut off dead branches. Pretty good for 69 years old! It takes me three times as long as when I was 25 years old, but I can still do it...slowly. (A two day job took me a week and I'm very sore in my legs.) Now that the dry season is almost finished, I will resume chasing the self-propelled lawn mower around the yard in about a month.
ps, Just to seem relevant, I say the ethanol is in the unleaded gas which the lawn mower burns.![]()
I don’t care for giant oaks or any such type unless their in the wild. We still have cold fronts windy conditions right now, rain of and on, chilly in the mornings since its desert here, I’m thinking of a low water type front yard, but have grass in the back with a fire pit. I did put in sprinklers but it make no sense using up a bunch of water when its such a dry climate. Something like this..........
