I had replenished my ammo stores. Now I'm going have to burn some at the practice range.
You can never have too much ammo or reloading components. :)

What is a 35 Special? I have seen 38 Special and 35 Remington (rifle) but never a 35 Special cartridge? The 45 Magnum while I am familiar with I have never shot.

The .38 special, 9mm, and .45 Magnum are fun.

The 12 gauge hurts. Not looking forward to that.
<sar>What? no cans. "Ameri-cans, Afri-cans, Mexi-cans "<sar> all joking aside, it's not about color, it's about stupid. Basically what do you expect when you walk into someones house to take their belongings or worse yet, defile their daughter.

A 12 gauge kicks like a Mother, but you don't even have to put it on your shoulder, point and click from the hip.

I was typing fast on my phone and not thinking. Also, the .45 is actually a .357. I got all the numbers jumbled in my head. Lots of stress the past few days.

Good luck to the rest of you...
If the current track is correct, the eye of the storm will be 60 to 80 miles east of my house -- at which point it will dog-leg to the north.

This is what the science says -- but I am beginning to hope that I am really lucky.

I am trying to believe in the science. But I've seen these storms ignore scientists in the past.

I believe in action.

Well, they issued mandatory evac for all E of I-95 in GA. 3' of storm surge and 4-8% probability of 64+ MPH winds. 37-40% for 34+ MPH winds. I ain't a'goin nowhere!

You guys in Florida and Georgia just sit tight. The thing has really slowed down and nobody is sure what it will do but it's looking like, as mentioned, it may do a dog leg and head north.

Where I sit is on the westernmost portion of the eastern seaboard. Quite often the hurricanes skate right on by us. Then there was the 1896 one that hit us head-on and it was a nasty one. David was a Cat5 and we took some signage and roof damage when it skated by. You just never know about Momma Nature and her whims.

Keep us posted every hour. When we don't hear from you we'll assume that the power has gone out or you have lost internet connection or you are sleeping through the storm.

Stay safe!

Just heard from relative in Spanish Wells Bahamas and they are OK but Abaco getting hit with 20' storm surge which puts most of it underwater. You can see the winds speed up as the eye tightens and slow back down as it opens up again. They got it hard and bad.
