I just don't understand the reluctance in seeing that human activities is also a significant climate driver. If all of these external effects are true it only means that mankind has more time to reduce our effect on the climate NOT that mankind has a minimal or no effect on the climate.
The reluctance is against sucking $100T from the global economy, plunging our species back a millennium, to chase an unrealistic goal that quite possibly is beyond our control.I just don't understand the reluctance ...
On that we agree but realistically, those types of world domination by CAGW nutcases are a dwindling minority. Most of us are true blue believers in capitalism, energy independence and good science. There is zero reason a nice profit to regular folks can't be made by fixing this problem if we stick to sane capitalistic practices. The reluctance is against sucking $100T from the global economy, plunging our species back a millennium, to chase an unrealistic goal that quite possibly is beyond our control.
The main purveyors of CAGW have already admitted it was a scheme to destroy capitalism. I don't understand the reluctance to take them at their word.
You mean by having the poor subsidize the cost of electric vehicles for the rich? There is zero reason a nice profit to regular folks can't be made by fixing this problem if we stick to sane capitalistic practices.
The really poor don't have money to subsidize anything but as a general principle electric vehicles and low carbon emission generators like nuclear power plants are soul mates. You mean by having the poor subsidize the cost of electric vehicles for the rich?
So where do you think the money comes from? The really poor don't have money to subsidize anything...
From 'rich' guys like you and me.So where do you think the money comes from?
Indeed.
While the rest of the world is doing what they damn well please. Even under an agreement.
We have a saying down here that goes: "Monterrey has the most stable weather in the world ... it's always screwed up!"Typical Colorado -- yesterday was 80°F and today we have a blizzard warning in effect.
I tell people, "If you don't like the weather in Colorado, check again -- it's already changed."We have a saying down here that goes: "Monterrey has the most stable weather in the world ... it's always screwed up!"
The Dam repair continues with a new spillway.
Not really. From 'rich' guys like you and me.
For the record, I could afford an EV -- even without the subsidy.Supporters of the EV credit also tend to ignore its deeply regressive effects. While the credit is disproportionately financed by lower- and middle-income taxpayers who cannot afford to purchase EVs, the benefits of the credit flow to a small segment of high-income households, many of which would have purchased EVs even without government inducements.
