The coldest I've felt is -54 degrees F. It was very calm and still. The air itself had a crystal like property.

Sound had a tinny reverb. A step in snow would loudly squeak. A very foreign environment.

Almost cartoonist, 'cept for the bite of the cold.

1Chance and I are spending January in Phoenix AZ in our motorhome. It got up to a balmy 72°F today. Meanwhile, at home we had 18" of snow a couple weeks ago and now the temp is supposed to be dropping way down, perhaps -40°F or so. I am glad we are here, and not there.

-26F right now. We added a “3 season room” this summer and we’ve been wondering about what it would be like in the winter. Until recently we’ve been using a small gas heater and thinking maybe it’ll be a four season room for us. We turned off the heater for the cold snap and it’s -17F out there. Definitely three seasons!

Another phenomenon when its this cold is 'Square Tires' If your tires lack a little air with a flat spot and left overnight, they stay that way until they warm up a little while driving.

Two guys from Florida and one from Mexico having lots of banter today. Is everybody else snowed in? Lost your DSL?

I'm expecting atferrari because he's in the other half of the world. Was that Argentina?
From the weather station in my backyard... (Elsewhere in the city are reports of ~-15 colder...)

A more fun phenomenon is to toss a glass of hot water into the air. It sublimes and disappears in a puff without ever hitting the ground.
