I'm just trying to figure out why the "Communist Thread was closed" it's political but, I didn't see anyone who should have been offended?

I mean what the hell happened?

Thankfully no. I debated with myself whether to go for the cheap joke. Wrong choice. From one father of girls to another, no offense intended.
No prob. Just wanted to make sure you knew we were speaking of a child.

She loves many different forms of dance: ballet, jazz, acro...

She desperately wants to dance "hip hop". I don't allow her. I don't like the culture, music, lyrics -- and the hypersexualized motions involved. She doesn't yet understand, and hates me for it sometimes -- especially because "all her friends do it".

Being a good parent is tough.

Roger that. About the only advice I can offer any other parent is to put your hardest work in early, before they're 7 or so. If you're lax when they're young, you'll have to deal with the results as they become teenagers, and you're toast.
You're absolutely right... I've seen many times over what happens when kids are neglected at an early age, and then the parents want to straighten them up once they're teens... almost always, the consequences of their ineptitude are irreversible

Absolutely beautiful today. The maximum heat index is 80F and not a cloud in the sky.
Compare that to a summer day with a heat index of 108F and an afternoon shower every day!
I might drip one drop of sweat when I paint the back door.

In McAllen, TX, at this moment. Doing some shopping with wifey... spending money that I have not yet earned, but what the heck...

Weather is exactly as you've described. Looking forward to a pleasant evening with friends in Brownsville tonight.

29˚F tonight, Hopefully my concrete won't crack, I'm tempted to go throw a light under the cover I put over it to protect it from rain, clear skies make for cold temps here in Utah. I was hoping for higher temps, we poured last Sunday I'm 2 days away from a week. But, it's curing slowly.

40F, grey and raining here. The one kind of weather that’s tough to enjoy. :(

Heading to the gym for a swim and a steam. :)
I wish I could do steam, but my asthma won't allow it, when I do it's like I'm suddenly drowning. Can't imagine Florida or Hawaii :(

I really do like swimming, I did it 3 times a week until 40.

The frame of my 39 year old back door has some cracks in the paint.:( It's going to require more than a 20 minute paint job. I've been painting it since I installed it in 1978 and the paint thickness is getting pretty bad after about six coats. No flexibility left, so some big cracks and flakes are showing up. I certainly don't intend to strip it down to wood, but I am going to have to do some scraping and sanding.:(

You see, it faces west and the weather gets to it pretty badly. I did add a 4 foot overhang two roofs ago (1989) and that stopped most of the rain splash, but it still gets black mold. I can easily clean the mold off with some diluted Clorox, but once it gets moldy, a fresh coat of paint is the only thing that stops it looking awful for several years.;)

According to my post on AAC about, "Bad Rustoleum" I painted it in 2013 with some rather awful paint, so it only lasted 4 years this time. I found an old can of, "Topcoat" for boats, but that must have been 2 paint jobs ago. I'm not even going to open the can to see if it's still good.:D

Well, happy for the nice weather. Heat index below 80F all day. Time to grub around in the "paint" box and see what kinds of scrapers I own. Maybe a 4 inch angle grinder with a wire cup on it.

Haven't been on AAC much lately because of, "winter chores". There are several kinds of repairs one does not want to do in the Florida summer!

Oh yeah...I need to mop a new coat of Kool Roof on the shed. It's leaking about 22 years after the first time I did that. Not bad for a 5 gallon bucket of goop and a cheap rag mop. The only problem I foresee is that the 4x10, 10 feet long, that I used for a scaffold 22 years ago got used up for another job.:( I have plenty of ladders, but I'm going to have to make a new scaffold. You just can't move fast enough to mop a roof by moving the ladder every 4 feet. Maybe plywood on top of my 16 foot extension ladder, and lay that on the steps of my 6 foot and 8 foot A-frame ladders.

I suggest reconsidering that. I stripped my wood porch a few years ago. With the right tools - real stripper (not some green or dumbed down version) and a carbide bladed (not steel) scraper - it goes pretty well and is a heckuva lot easier than sanding. It took it right down to bare wood.

My other approach is to replace wood with vinyl in rot-prone areas. For me, that’s window sills.
