Sure looks like Fla. Nice place #12. I would hate to show you my back yard.
Was that a fur ball in the first photo? in the yard.

No. Just a little wad of leaves. Camphor trees shed.
They abandon small branches about the diameter of a pencil and short twigs with leaves still attached.

I tried to get a photo of one of the local fur balls yesterday, but he was moving too fast to get a clear shot. All I got was a fuzzy butt with a lot of blur.
Cat Headquarters is manned (catted?) daily, and it's under my cars.o_O

But, yeah, Florida is in all its tropical glory right now. Full blown beautiful, and hotter than a two dollar pistol.
Heat index is 110F today.
"Popcorn" storms pop up at random places whenever an up-draft forms.
Also called, "summer thunder-boomers".
There was one a couple of hours ago. From zero to 10 square miles in 15 minutes!
Then...poof. It's gone.
Steam rises off the streets.

Speaking of which, I installed a bird feeder for the hummingbirds in front of my kitchen's window, facing the backyard, and these are the only two pictures worth posting here. I'll call a friend next week who loves photography and has professional equipment, and see if I can convince him to be patient and snap a few pictures of these beautiful critters...

We are having a great weather here. The sun is up though its a bit warm these days, I appreciate that it doesn't affect my day at all. Its a wonderful day for me and I hope with everyone else too.

For some reason, I cannot access my pictures, but this week there was an incredible thunderstorm in Boston. While much of the area saw no rain, this storm followed a narrow path through the city. Elsewhere, it ripped up trees and caused a lot of damage. I work in a marina where there is a lot of new construction going on. When the storm came through, it littered the boardwalk with branches. Flagpoles were broken off or bent over by the force of the wind. It also picked up construction materials from the nearby site and sent them swirling through the air. They smashed into buildings and boats in the water. It was over in about 10-15 minutes.

Let's put it this way -- by comparison with the stagnant, saturated, often fetid 'air' that currently passes for the ambient atmosphere 'round these parts - a nice pyroclastic flow would be right 'nippy' and most refreshing!:eek::eek:

Best regards

I haven't posted in this Thread for a while because there's no news. Just the standard, "hot as blazes", afternoon thunderstorms and, "Don't mow the lawn until the edge of sunset when the heat index goes below 100F. Very normal for Florida.

100°F+ on a regular basis?! -- I can't imagine it!:eek::eek::eek:
Well hey! - Thanks for the 'perspective adjustment', #12!:) -- that makes a few highs of ≈ 92°F more endurable!

Best regards

We get mico bursts here during the monsoon. The cold air falls from 40,000 feet to hit the ground. Very localized, but very destructive.

Here's a much better picture of my little summer critter.
Nice, I have a Honeysuckle bush just outside my Gazebo so they get really close, also they are inquisitive, they hover just outside looking in.
They are the ruby throated variety.
Hard to photo though as they do don't stay in one place long.
Max.

I was going to post a picture from up here in Bar Harbor where it's warm but comfortable. Is there a way to do that from an iPhone? Away from my computer for some R&R.

Yep. Super easy. Click Upload a File. On the resulting screen, click on Choose File. Your Photo Library will be an option; click on it. From there, it should be easy...

We were just getting a little dry after 3 days of 90F. Then we had an inch of rain over the lunch hour - washouts, mini-flood in the office basement and now, 8 hours later, everything is greener and cooler.
