Heat index over 100F for 8 hours per day. (108F today) This causes pop-up thunderstorms. That causes humidity.
Help! I live in a sauna and I can't get the door open!

Oh...wait..that's a good thing. As long as the door is closed, the air conditioning stays in the house with me.:p

ps, I got the new axle bearing on my car with no injuries except the wrench I broke on the way to 203 ft-lbs of "tight".
Checking to buy new wrench later today.
Busy with other jobs.
Not injured, not ill, just busy for weeks in a row.

The monsoons have arrived here in Tucson. It rained with high winds today. It was great! The temperature dropped. We all sat on the porch enjoying the cool air.

Does the desert bloom after a rain like the Freeways bloom in L.A.?

ps, same weather report as Monday...hot and soggy. No change in sight.
Fortunately, I get acclimated pretty quickly. It's just that winter is better because I'm not damp every time I step out of the house in the winter.

On the other hand, rain doesn't stop most work around here. The rain isn't cold, so you only get wet, and you were wet already, except now you aren't salty.:D
I can't do torch work in the rain, but everything else doesn't matter. Me wheeling a new water heater across the lawn in the rain? No problem. That's why my dolly has fat tires. As long as I'm installing it under a roof, my wet shirt will keep me cool while I attach the pipes.

Airplanes have been invented. You can be there by dawn.
I chased the cherry blossoms in Washington DC a few years ago - it took 4 hours to get there. I was delayed by the thunderstorm that knocked all the pedals off.

I was wondering if these desert things can also be flashes in the pan.

I would assume, yes, but the last I heard, they're good for at least 3 days.
Annnd...Les got here the firstest with the mostest.
There ya' go. Straight from the eye witness.
Pack a lunch. You're going to be there for a while.
