how to send a signal from arduino to TDC Gp22

i am trying to do a laser range finder using arduino and GP22 time to digital converter .It uses the prinicple of time of flight . For that i need to do configure tdc using arduino ,and also i need to send a start signal to TDC to start counting if once the stop1 signal from laser is detected.can any one help me in sending the signal from arduino to generate fire pulses and start counting
