How to Remove Gray Plastic Cover from XT60 Connector?

Hello Everyone,

I have an XT60 connector with a gray plastic cover , and I need to remove it to access the wires. I also have an XT30 connector that has heat shrink tubing instead of the plastic cover, which makes it easy to cut the wire from the heat shrink tubing, desolder, and remove the cables (photo of the XT30 attached).

With the XT60, the gray plastic cover seems to be in the way, and I’m not sure how to remove it without damaging the connector. Does anyone have experience with this or tips on how to safely remove the gray plastic cover?

It looks like the cover would just pull off. Or it might be a "designed for assembly" cover that is not intended to be ever removed for service. There are many products designed to never be serviced, that may be one such piece of junk.
Or you may simply not be aware of the removal steps. OR it might be a molded on strain relief not intended to evenr be removed.

R/C type connectors
They are simply solder potted, they are so cheap, I keep quite a few on hand, both male & female for LV hi-current connections.
Any of the RC or on line sites sell them.
They come in two current ratings XT60's also.
