How to measure AC Vpeak using Microcontroller Pic16F877A?

Currently working on a PIC-based project that used to measure the Vpeak of an AC signal from home mains electricity which is stepped down using a transformer (230Vrms - 6Vrms), followed by full-bridge rectifier circuit and a voltage divider circuit scaled down to 5Vpeak pulsating DC signal. But I'm not sure how to configure in the PIC in order to obtain the peak voltage of the pulsating DC signal and displayed on a 16x2 LCD. What is the register or settings that need to use in this part of the project?
