Hi I want to make a led torch which would run on 3v and the battery capacity I haven't decided. Please exclude circuits with toroid coil and ics (except ic555) . I want to run 6 leds and one 1watt led.

 

Well when you have worked out your led power, current and voltage, then you can select the battery for it, and that will show you how big it will need to be.

As you only will use 3 Volts as power, you most likely will need a boost converter.
Also you have said nothing about the specs of the leds to be used.

There aren't any, your 1W led is going to take 330mA, so your batteries wont last long, you need to use a led driver chip like PR4403, this will run from a 1.2V nicad.

PR4403 only drives 40 mA.

Sounds like three "C" cells are called for.

 

Want all to be fitted in the container.
All leds runs on 3v. I would use two nicad cells (each rated at 1000mah).
