How to make a game Star Trek Armada 2 ?

The game was "only" about 600MB. Can anyone here reverse engineer a game like this ? I wish there was a dev talk on how exactly a game like this is made from the ground up.

If some one did want to make a game like this, how would you make an engine? Where would you even start ? Visually, it's a position grid, with some basic "physics" rules for motion, and nice colors for sprites and weapons. You select a ship, and give a move command, or attack command.

What would the 1st line of code be ? What language was it likely in back in mid-1990's ?

I thought you wanted to ban fun like this ;)

The language was likely Assembly for the specific processor. The first Pac Man was built with a Z80 processor programmed in assembly.
