Hi, im curious how to handle ,lets say 20-30, LEDs that could draw max 60mA each on USB device. As i know usb port could deliver about 0.5A and those used in full(white color) draw around 1.2A+ ... This question is about power not how to connect them. What is the trick to use them lets say all white and not to fry anything or to not have enough power?

The USB spec says you can draw 1 USB load from a USB controller without having to negotiate for more. If you negotiate for more and the controller refuses, the circuit must operate in a low power mode (1 load).

Generally if you try to take more power from a computer USB socket it will switch off the USB power without spitting any sparks. "USB charge ports" now do provide more power however.
