Are there some rules of thumb to estimate the noise pick-up from power planes? Our product is rather crowded. The PCB has twenty layers and there are more than 10 power supplies to feed different chips. We have sandwich structure of the layout, i.e. signal-Reference-signal-Referene-signal...The difficulty lies that we don't have enough layers dedicated for GND, so we have to use power planes as reference planes for some signals.
Has anybody here done simulation about noise pick-up from the non-GND reference planes? Both single-ended and differential tracks are used in our design.
