Could somebody help me with this one please.

The question states I need to calculate the inductive impedance of the attached circuit.

I need to know if I'm on the right track here. The formula is;

Z=Square root of R squared + Xl squared.

First calculate Xl with the formula Xl = 2pifl

Then add the square of R with THE square of Xl and square root of that.

Yeah, that looks like what they probably want you to do. I don't like the term "inductive impedance" since what you are calculating is the magnitude of the total impedance, including both the real resistance and the inductive reactance. But it is not unreasonable to describe this impedance as being inductive, so I'll let that slide. Generally, when asked for impedance, you should give both the magnitude and the angle or, equivalently, the real and the imaginary part (if you know how to describe it using complex numbers).
