19 years have been passed so quickly. I realized the fascinating world of electronics at 17, when I started the college. I know it is late but I am working to improve my knowledge thanks to allaboutcircuits ;)

38 Years old - Started in electronics at 20 years of age. I'm now a Tech Support Manager for a mid sized video electronics company. Sadly I do more manager and less tech these days but I quess moving up means moving on.

Well, you served and that's important. Hope you missed Korea.

BTW, I searched on"soda can semi scale airplanes," and the only thing that came up is your bio. here at AAC. 'm intrigued. What are they? I am a life-long modeler - began in about 1947.

There are some more in Bernard's album finally

I'm 19, An electrical engineering student at the Rochester Institute of technology. I've been building electronics for many years, Especially after I received my Amateur Radio License. Mainly interested in radio electronics but have found my way over to micro-controllers as well. I'm also very involved with k2gxt, the RIT amateur radio club. Many projects at the moment, although it's a little slow because of the amount of work! I'll finish them eventually!

Thanks,
Brent

Anyone in electronics who hasn't got a couple of projects building and more still on the computer isn't obsessive enough to be successful.

I'm old enough to be the REAL Yoda! :) No, actually, I'm 54. I built my first crystal radio when I was 8. I built a lot of hi-fi equipment (vacuum tube type) in my high school years. I got my Amateur Radio license at 18, and by the time I was 22, I was chief engineer of a 50,000 watt directional A.M. broadcast station. Crawled around broadcast transmitters for a quarter of a century....also doing a lot of work at HIPAS Observatory and HAARP, designing instrumentation for ionospheric research. Had my first novel about the subject, Plasma Dreams, published in 2005.
I now teach amateur radio and commercial radio licensing at Hutchison Institute of Technology in Fairbanks. I'm also on the FCC license question pool committee....so after sweating bullets under those horrendous FCC tests for years, I now get to WRITE them. Poetic justice, I guess! :)

To anyone who cares'
I'm 52. Last electronics class I took, we each built a super heterodyne radio reciever. Mine actually worked. Tubes, not solid state.

I'm 25. I started with installing car stereos at 14. I used to attend decibel contests and at 18, I joined the Air Force and became an Aircraft Electrician...did 6 years active duty and then went Guard...I've been attending ITT Tech for Computer and Electronic Engineering...with 6 more classes to go until my AAS (currently in 2 as I speak with 2 weeks to go) and for my day job, I'm a PCB Debug tech for a Electronic manufacturing plant in Boise, ID.

Howdy, neighbor! I'm also in Boise. I posted post #11 in this thread, but it was over a year ago.
