How old are ya..

Halloo. I'm 19, I think.

I'm currently a second year EE student at UCLA specializing in computer architectures. I've been coding since middle school and programming PIC microchips since high school.

I like to eat and sleep. Especially in class.

Update. Now I'm 27 (since April 30). I think that proves my theory (I'm getting old). :D:D:D

By the way, this thread just made its first anniversary September 12. I think this calls for a celebration!
I'm having a gin and tonic "as we speak". Of course, I celebrate this way almost every evening.:D

This is such an interesting thread, I went back to log in and could not find my way back; then gin & tonic came to mind then " potted" it was a snap then. I was too young to watch Lindburg cross the Atlantic. My first electric project [1938 6th grade ] was an operating electric motor built from a door bell ringer; also same time frame ,made plasma light with model A Ford spark coil .There's othrg junk in my profile.

Frankly, I didn't know that you were so experienced, Bernard.

Thank you for your Service. You might've missed "The Big II", but one can't help when they were hatched.

I'm not sorry that I missed Vietnam.

man i feel really old! I only started electronics at 19 and my practical experience is appalling. I have made one device (a simple voltmeter) and that was part of a school project! I'm going to the corner and hang my head in shame!

Well, you served and that's important. Hope you missed Korea.

BTW, I searched on"soda can semi scale airplanes," and the only thing that came up is your bio. here at AAC. 'm intrigued. What are they? I am a life-long modeler - began in about 1947.

John,

I found this link which I believe shows some examples of the type of model that Bernard was referring to. Several of them are very realistic.

Those are neat. I remember cheap carnival prizes post war were made in Japan of recyled beer cans. If you took them apart, which I did of course, you could find the beer labels. Wish I still had some.

Thanks for the link. John

That way, you celebrate your anniversary by the day, so you don't need to arrange a big party each year. :D

You are not the only one. You started, and that is what it counts. Sometimes, it happens someone to find that likes electronics, since that someone never had true contact with electronics before. Don't feel ashamed about it. It is never late to start.

Bernard will post some pics when he can figure out how to do it.
We look forward to the post.

I would recommend you take a look at the "faq" section for assistance on how to attach files. The link is located in the horizontal menu bar below the ALL About Circuits Logo at the top of every page. It is the same menu bar that contains the "New Posts" menu selection.
