Does anybody participting in this discussion know the input resistance of that 5 1/2 digit "EMF" meter?? AND do we understand what "EMF" means in that context??
What magnitude of "EMF" are the meters that they are using actually showing?? Are those meters actually calibrated???
Consider that my 4 1/2 digit DMM will display voltages with the common lead tied to an inactive and unpowered appliance and the other lead hanging in the air, is it reasonable to think I have ghosts around me??

How much current does it take to develop a few millivolts across a ten megohm resistor?? I can generate that much current sliding my hand on the plastic outside of the meter probe!

And the ghost-chasers meters may read "EMF" (Externally Made Field), easy to do.
As for"how logical" is it???
My answer is "No, not really"!!! BUT to fake something, logic is not involved, really

Those are the low cost ones who can’t afford an EMF meter.

 

Does "EMF" now translate to "externally made fake."??? That may be the case, it appears.

Certainly that was, and is, a good quality test instrument. But probably modified as a prop for "THE ACTION", like every other cartoon show.
Consider all of the other things that we see, which are very obvious, such as "RoadRunner" and poor Mister Coyote, and the wonderful "transporter" on the Star Trek" show.

The variations of the ambient electrical fields mostly demonstarate the sensitivity of some very sensitive instruments to the electric fields too weak to get a response from most instrumentation. Consider the very common thing that we very seldom can actually se: The WIND. We can see it atwork making the trees dance, but most of us are not able to actually SEE the wind.

It's not the ghosts that show up on the meters—it's the ghosts' phones!

The "logic" depends greatly on what they are trying to sell ! !
Using the older,and very impressive looking instruments is intended to present an air of "authentensity" based on appearance. Consider that the folks with no technical background or experience are easily impressed by complicated-looking equipment.
