Or a surplus, or their extremely high production volumes allow it?
I bought from AliExpress once and the product was counterfeit. I thought the price was too good to be true and it was; I was hoping it was a manufacturer that decided to compete with their customer. I had to add them to my SPAM filter so I don't receive junk email from them anymore...

Thanks for the warning... AliExpress... I'll keep them in my watch-out list...

Some things are probably legit, but the prices on most things are in the too good to be true category. I'm in the market for some microUSB to USB adapters and I'll probably buy them on AliExpress. The counterfeit microSD cards I bought came with SD and USB adapters; they seem to work okay...

Everything you dream of could be here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Stan...C-Converter-1pc-New-SG053-SZ/32320655374.html
Get two of them, connect each to you 24 volt supply and adjust them to your desired voltage (they are variable) and fire up.
Good luck
Perhaps more accessible - truck drivers supply shops.

AFAIK: there's existing product lines of devices to run 12V gadgets from 24V truck electrics.

For anything that needs 5V - many of the cigar socket adapters will also work on 24V, but read the small print before parting with money.
