So iv a home theater system im integrating the old and the new

My master control amp has a 12v trigger out

Im need to run 2 power amps for extra outputs so iv decided to use a a basic relay fed from the 12v trigger to feed a secondary 12v psu to trigger some ssr to turn on 2 power amps and some fans.

Do I need to add current resistor to the input of the ssr? Or should a i build a timing circuit to switch from the trigger signal over to the 12v supply im using for the rest of the circuit?

Got a link to the SSR? I also assume you have a DC SSR.

Yes sorry I should have mentioned that its a Chinese "fotek ssr 50 da" I dont think I need to over engineer it they will simply be switched on by the amplifiers 12v trigger out and thats will in turn turn on 2 power amps and a fan assembly. I just want to future proof the build as best as possible.

OK so here is what I am seeing:

Fotek Solid State Relay SSR-50DA.
Input Voltage. 4 – 32 VDC.
Output Voltage. 24 – 380 VAC.
Output Current. 50 A max.
Turn off voltage. < 3.5 VDC.

So a turn on (control) voltage is fine.
The switching voltage should be 24 to 380 VAC and you are switching AC correct?

If you are driving a 12 volt SSR with 12 volts that should be OK! Most SSR devices can be kept on all the time .
BUT DO NOT exceed the SSR current rating. with many amplifiers there is an inrush current when theyswitch on.
Is the trigger out that you are using DC?? or AC?? That could be an issue. BUT if it is working you are probably all set.
