Hi All I am designing a 3.5kW Charger and trying to source a capacitor for a boost power factor correction converter I am designing. I have come into a bit of problem for the design I need a capacitor with the following properties/ratings: Vdc: 450 V and capacitance of 470uF, I believe usually metal film capacitors are used for this application. I am not bothered about space taken up I know it's going to be big, however I need this capacitor to mount onto a PCB. I was wondering if anyone knew of any capacitor that meet those ratings, or if anyone can suggest what would be a suitable solution, if I say got a load of electrolytic capacitors and then used one small metal film capacitor would that be suitable? I am very new to design so if anyone had any suggestions of what I could do would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

So is it possible to just parallel up a load of capacitors that have the voltage rating, to get the capacitance I am after? Thanks
