Don't be surprised if the switch isn't what you want.
These Carling switches come in a multitude of versions - unless you have the full manufacturer's part number, there's no way of telling for sure. (In the unlikely event you have the 14-digit number, post it, we can look it up.)
You just have to beep out the switch yourself. Use a multimeter to identify which contact does what; a 9V battery will get the LED lit enough to see it on.
On-off-on isn't a terminology I understand but it sounds like this is a latching SPST switch which illuminates when on. This would not be a SPDT as Beenthere suggests you use. A SPDT would do the job fine as he says, no relay required. It's likely that Carling have wired this switch so that it shows ON when the contact is CLOSED, which would be the most common application - and the opposite to what you want.
