Hi. My vintage, circa 1980, desktop paper folder is no more! Removed cover and found the top of this component blown off. I have no idea what is does but connected to the small drive motor. Spent days looking on net but to no avail. Can anyone help in identifying component, a source or equivalent replacement. thanks

It is an interference interference supressor normally connected to the AC power input.
The equipment should work normally without this component (except it may interfere with radio/tv)
If it still doesn't work then there is some other fault - fuse?
