Hi guys,
I am an first year undergraduate, working on a liquid bi propellant engine at the Unis amateur rocketry team, and I have been asked to design a circuit to create a spark igniter system, for an ASI. However, I don't know much about circuits! Aerodynamics and thermodynamics are my forte.

I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me get started with this project, because it's honestly stressing ne out.

Yes I have, however, I am unsure of what certain things mean. I am sorry if I seem like a complete beginner.
I have thought about how I might power the spark plug, with the little circuitry knowledge I have.

 

Can you use an off-the-shelf igniter, e.g. as used for gas ovens and hobs? There are versions powered by a single 1.5V alkaline cell.

 

Seems to be a lot of info on the web. I read where the Emory-Riddle team used a car spark plug. Would a glow plug work?
