Hi everyone, I have an assessment next week, and I have two subjects left to cover which I cannot find information on for love nor money.

Could anyone point me in the right direction in the following topics.

1. The internal workings of a fluorescent fitting and how it all works.

2. How a star connected 3 phase system affects voltages and currents??

please help, i am running out of options.

Many thanks

The website howstuffworks.com is a good website to checkout when it comes to learning basic information on a given topic. It has some information on "fluorescent" lamps that might prove useful to you on this page.

abt the three phase star connections,
have u tried a google search for the topic,
u can also find books on it,
if there is something in particular u re looking for i will try to help.
i dont really get what is it that u want,
in star connection the voltage applied at two ends(line to line or phase to phase) line voltage is root(3) times the voltage available between neutral and a end (phase to neutral )called phase voltage.
in this connection line current equals phase value and current in three phases is same as far as balanced condition is concerned, in this case the three phase values are 120 degrees electrical apart.

i just need as much information as i can gather about star 3 phase systems. How current affects voltage and vice versa. how to balance the system etc etc
