Hi

I need a little help identifying the component circled below. Its on a wireless router board that appears totally dead functionality wise. I think it is defective as it gets very hot. I am assuming its a capacitor - but I don't know what type. I'm hoping this is an easy question for someone who spends their days around such components.

Thanks.

It is a 100uH inductor. It is part of the switch mode supply based around U4.
If the inductor is getting hot then it is probably OK, but something is drawing too much current or, possibly, U4 is defective.

A 10uH inductor, the chip next to it U603 uses the same one, you could swap it to see if the fault swaps, then you will know, my guess is the chip U4 is faulty.
