Hi!
I am not a pro what so ever.
I try to do my best on researching stuff.

I currently have been dedicated my time on salvaging any E-waste that others tends to direct for destruction, recycling or worst landfills.
I'm hoping that once in a while I can post a question regarding identifying and how I can possibly steer some of this material.

I will start with what believe is a capacitor....???
This came out of a hi-end shredder that had mechanical issues.
Can anybody help on how to address the part number, proper identifying description and where can it be applied to.
I've searched around but can't seem to match specs to others.

Initially, it's 55 uF +- 5% rated at 280 VAC (not DC)

A little digging can likely come up with more info.

Application is probably a motor run capacitor.

AC rated caps are usually for motor start, motor run, audio crossover capacitors and power factor correction.

Here is some info on MKP https://product.tdk.com/info/en/products/capacitor/film/mkp_mfp/index.html

AC capacitors sometimes have designations of X and Y caps. You need to look this up. that designation is how they are safely connected to the AC line.
