Hey Guys,

I'm really into electric guitars, and I am very curious as to how guitar effect pedal circuits work and produce the various different effects.

Does anyone know how these effects are generated ? ( Analog ? DSP ? etc.. ) and what are the foundational electronics required in order to build such stuff ? ( Amplifiers ? Phase Shifters ? etc... ? No idea :D ) I just wanted someone to point me in the right direction so I could attempt to build a basic effects pedal for my Electric Guitar..

Anything would help

Thanks guys

The National Semiconductor Audio/Radio Handbook is a good place to start.
The book was published around 1980 and is being reprinted by AudioXPress.

You may be able to find some of the circuit information at the National
Semiconductor website.

If you build the circuits you may have to find substitutes for some of the parts.
