Hello,

I'm using the Elektra Distortion box design as the basis of my PCB. Single 2N3904 NPN transistor and clipping diodes. (I have a switch choosing between 2 silicon diodes and two germanium diodes).
Any advice, suggestions/comments. Sincere thanks for the help.

I imagine the circuit will work OK but Q2 shows a N channel mosfet and all the diodes (1N914) are silicon.

 

Thanks. Q2 is just for reverse polarity protection for the input voltage. The amplifying part pf the circuit is the 2N3904.
Yes, the diodes in the schematic show silicon, however, I will be using silicon and Germanium, switching between the two types of "clipping" diodes.

Q2 can be replaced with another diode as well.
