What is the difference in the following two modes?
1> GSM in sleep mode
2>GSM is on but not doing anything
Ofcourse, there is a differnce of power consumption but do they differ functionally also?

That's a tough question. I don't think the global system for communication ever goes into sleep mode or does nothing. Do you have a brand name, a model number, a part number?
