I second this - The E12/E24 series were designed to give a convenient spread of values, and if you need a more precise value, they are easy to combine in series to generate it.If you are going to buy resistors from ebay, try to look for a seller that has kits/assortments that follow one of the E series of values like E12, E24, etc...
I have purchased from this seller before...

Pretty decent shipping times considering where it is coming from.
We used to have some mom and pop shops here, but they went belly up with the economy a few years ago. The only place I'm aware of that I can get discrete components locally is Radio Shack. Conveniently spread across the city, but expensive, and lacking in variety.I bought an assortment of 1/4W carbon film 5% resistors at a local store for a pretty low price. They are Velleman brand.

I was actually centering on BGMicro myself. Seems they have the easiest search for products of most of the vendors. And the availability pricing looks fair.I'm pretty sure Talahasee FL has some good shops, it has been brought up before.
I like BGMicro myself.
What???? You would make a good politician. Never answer an issue directly. Not to worry.........the youth group was legit.........it's when one tries to turn on the subterfuge, that it never works out................
Hey, Steve, might I suggest that when you post advertisments for your company that you don't use a name tied to your LinkIn account naming you as the founder of such a site, as commercial advertising is against the Terms of Service.Hello,
I recently found a company from which I always get my <SNIP>.
They sell so much brands such as Hitachi, Fujitsu, Philips, Texas Instruments to name some of them...
Of course the best thing you can do is that you take a look by yourself and see if it fits your needs: <SNIP>
Have a nice day !
All of the big component houses have pretty decent parametric searches some are better than others for certain types of components. For example, Digikey has a nice search for mosfets for the "analog challenged".I was actually centering on BGMicro myself. Seems they have the easiest search for products of most of the vendors. And the availability pricing looks fair.
Not to mention that a guy named "Steve" has an email contact on the sites registrar.Hey, Steve, might I suggest that when you post advertisments for your company that you don't use a name tied to your LinkIn account naming you as the founder of such a site, as commercial advertising is against the Terms of Service.![]()

"Just found the site". If you are going to promote your own site at least be honest about it.
Someone in his first post wakes up a year old thread to tell us about his latest find and it "just happens" to be a vendor and you need to do a whois to see he's related to the place? Not to mention that a guy named "Steve" has an email contact on the sites registrar.
