I'm about to involved designing a robot arm.
The prototype will be built principally with sheetmetal.
What are some sources for parts like Bearings, Pulleys, Gears, Belts, etc.?

It depends on the quality and costs of the robots you are trying to build, i.e. hobby vs industrial robots.

"STOCK DRIVE" is another company that has a much narrower product range than McMaster Carr or Grainger. That is good if you are not also shopping tor cleaning products and ladders with safety guarding.
