I'd spend upto say $100 for a desoldering iron, just to have it there on the shelf for big desoldering projets. Is there any worth it for that price, and don't clog as quick as my spring load pump and are easy to clean ?

I know of the Hakko FR-301, but that's not worth it for the amount I'd use it. I already have a Hakko 888 and a cheap hotair station, , so I don't want a combo machine.

 

I have been using the old Radio Shack de-soldering bulb type sucker pump, works fine for me.
It was still available when I recently looked but seems to have disappeared, off Google anyway.
