Okay, thanks. That actually helps a ton. I don’t fully understand how that works, “biasing the voltage” and all, but now I know where I need to focus my further research. So thank you very much! Will update if I make progress or run into issue with such.

I’m not sure what you mean by “open circuit”?

Look up "diode pump".

 

This is obviously just a small part of a larger project. If I knew the overall purpose of it, I could probably suggest a much simpler solution.
