What's puzzling is, all of that was disassembled. All suspect parts replaced.

Noise persisted after.

So, you replaced #515, #508, #543, and #308 had nothing between the drum and the front surface of the felt. From the diagram #454 glides would have been replaced as well.

If all of that was replaced; the only thing I can suspect is the ruff handling and banging re-alighned surface area's; within the cabinet.

When the square is out; can cause some tweaking of the cabinet; which might place some stresses that would result in parts rubbing against one another?

That may or may not be the case, I would think ruff handling may likely to have knocked something loose that was impinged somewhere, and was small and undetectable; ear ring or other?

By the way, you don't lube with new parts do you?

It's an obsession with me to never put anything together dry.
Even nuts and bolts get anti seize or lock tight.
But in this case I did. So as not to collect lint.

 

If the fan is a squirrel cage type, check that it hasn't come loose from the shaft. I had one that acted that way and it made quite a racket.

My daughter was by today. Not being deaf like me, she still heard the noise for a second on starting and shut down.

She said "it's the blower, stupid".

How would I know? I can't hear it.

Got in the new slides today, so took it apart.

The blower didn't seem loose, but had worked it's way out enough that pulling a little I could get it to touch. The rough ride on it's back had reseated it a little.

So I took the retainer out and moved it in and out to center it better.

I'm sure it's fine now.

It did need the slides. Almost wore thru.

Now all that's left is to make up a good story.

 

Sorry to learn of your audio problem. Happy to be reminded how much information I get from just listening. There have been times when I knew what was wrong and what the price was going to be before I knocked on the front door, because I could hear the machine as I was walking to the house from my truck.

If #308 was never replaced then it's possible you knocked something loose from the seal #308. It was lodged and you displaced it.
