    Wow. Nice find.
    All those times I heard "and any arbitrary waveform may be so decomposed" and there was this leeetle doubt left in my mind.

    In high school physics, about 60 years ago, i learned about how early astronomers predicted the orbit of planets by using epicycles. They seemed sort of circular, but a circle didn't fit. So they added another circle on top of that, and then more.

    In college physics, I learned Fourier series.

    About 50 years after that, for some reason it occurred to me that the epicycles and Fourier series were the same thing!

    Now we have a graphic illustration of just that. I love it!
