Very old industrial systems that are running just fine after 25 years and won't be replaced until the factory burns to the ground or is closed.
Yeah, that is what the refinery area operators said when I went to replace all of their circa 1940's stand-alone pneumatic controls with a computer driven DCS system with electronic transducers. It even had solenoid activated referee whistles soldered onto copper air tubing for alarm annunciators. They could not comprehend how in hell I could put 2 walls of panel gauges, chart recorders, and pneumatic controls onto a 15" monitor screen. "I don't know why they want to change something that worked just fine for 50 years". A few months after the upgrade it was "I don't know why they didn't do this years ago".
