Does removing the buzzer chip (FMQ) from a PCB reduce the energy the PCB uses? Also is it save to remove the buzzer?

I have no idea - but the problem is solved. It will consume less current - even though not much less,.

If it's a logic level device then it saves maybe 30mA max for a typical device, when it's activated.

If the device is a smoke alarm or other hazard detection sort of item, removing the buzzer or sounder will not be a good idea.
