I'm using piezos (triggered by a drum) to activate lights, so that each drum in a kit lights up when hit. Unfortunately, the piezos don't generate enough current to power an LEE. We considered using a relay, but then we discovered that this simply powers an internal LED.

Does anyone know of a component to amplify the piezo output, or an alternative electrical switch to a relay?

 

The piezo in an e-drum drives an opamp that can turn on an LED.
