EHT power supply design and construction

Why don't you guys get a room? :) :)
FWIW - I find it curious that we're receiving more 'flack' now that we're predominately on topic:confused:?

But to your question:

Why don't you guys get a room?
Apart from anything else we're first degree biological relatives and of 'like gender' -- Not that even the former consideration carries any relevance nowadays!:rolleyes: -- So you may write us off as 'old fashioned'

As we joke in our family (at least with those from WV) it's like getting a date at the family reunion. :)
--Emphasis added --

You may laugh - howbeit I hear 'that sort of thing' is all the rage in 'KY'!:D

PS
To any and all Kentuckians -- I entreat your [collective] sense of humor! -- Hate mail is a distraction I can do quite nicely without at the moment!:):):)

So... I have taken the decision to create a distinct blog entry for each and every 'expansion'. Despite the (mercifully reader-transparent) 'awkwardness' of said scheme - it is workable in that said 'block' of entries need be neither sorted nor contiguous -- that said, I plan to create several 'reserved' entries for 'tidiness sake'...
HP That's up to you but I say you should PM the administrator first to see if there's a better way cuz I know from b4 that they don't always read F&S forum also maybe they don't believe questions of just technique and work arounds are completely appropriate for public chat on that forum:confused:?

You've turned what started out to be an interesting thread/idea into a royal cluster f##k.

HP so do I:mad:! We're getting greater negative feedback to post ratio when we're on topic than with the idle chit chat:rolleyes:!

So peeps is your call cuz I'll be tickled pink to do just non substantive chatting if that's more acceptable:rolleyes:?

HP Plz explain how to collimate 80kev light for the single channel CT scanner cuz line scanner _optics_ are too radiolucent at PE > 50kev:( Also plz say phosphor with short enough persistence cuz Ag activated ZnS is still way to long:rolleyes:! Also is phototransistor fast enough? Cuz otherwise I'd rather use PMT than fast PD with sucky sensitivity:mad:

HP I plan be back Friday so I can review changes and help with glossary then:)!

HP I'm sry for this but you want suggestions so I say important thing missing from tutorial is suggestion for circuit to test FB after rebuilding. Cuz we agreed half Royer is too touchy and unreliable for test circuit and ZVS is too powerful for purpose I'm asking you to plz post a good test circuit that's safe enough for newbie use:)!

Have no worries since you guys/gals are putting forward some much needed information. Heck! I found no such detail myself on the web.

Keep up the good work:)

Edit: Me having an afterthought, thought that my original comment would be open for too many interpretations that I did not intend to, so I modified it to be closer to what I meant...

HP fraid I'm totally confused abt the circuit you left on your server for me:oops: So I built it and it works very well cuz I get 60kV hot arcs from just the 30V LV supply:) But I just can't understand how the base drive works w/o a ground reference cuz feedback wdg ends float when negative? So anyhow here's link to question I asked on chat forum so I say be happy cuz I didn't bother you with my stupidity:oops::)

Seems to me #12 has mentioned this before. If you want to really hear some of this stuff, you should get some WV'ians and Kentuckians together.
One side of my ancestry hails from them thar' hills. The first topic of discussion on the first date is always about the family tree so as to ascertain the presence of "deal breakers".:D

Have you ever heard of a, "double cousin"? I have some!

My grandfather and his brother married a pair of sisters. My mother is double cousin to the children of my grandfather's brother. I think that means I am a double cousin, once removed, to the children of my grandfather's brother.

Dating can get complicated in Kentucky and W. Va.:D

HP Plz upload pic of Magill forceps to blog cuz they're perfect for manipulation of low profile objects on flush surface and since jaw is designed to grasp tubular devices it's also perfect for wires too:cool:

HP Plz upload pic of Magill forceps to blog
Done! -- The first image shows the instrument in its entirety while the second details the 'jaws' -- Note that both images have been uploaded to my blog and displayed here via 'link' for your convenience...

since jaw is designed to grasp tubular devices it's also perfect for wires too:cool:
Please note that manipulation of fine conductors, etc is not feasible inasmuch as full apposition is limited to ≈ 1 mm by design -- that said, it may be possible to reform the instrument via heat and force howbeit achievment 'even' occlusion will be more difficult that such may seem...

SO! -- If you've no more 'assignments' for me:rolleyes: - I'm off to the 'mosh pits';););):p
